Pool, Spa, Alfresco & Outdoor Power — Joondalup
Coastal Perth lives outside half the year. Pool pump circuits, spa power, alfresco kitchens, outdoor lighting, weatherproof GPOs along the back fence for the Christmas lights. Plus the salt-air corrosion that eats standard outdoor fittings on the Mullaloo, Iluka and Burns Beach beachfront in two summers flat.
What I do
- Pool pump circuit — equipotential bonding, pump RCD, dedicated sub-board if needed
- Spa power — proper RCD, isolator, weatherproof to the unit
- Alfresco GPOs (IP-rated outdoor outlets for BBQs, fridges, fans, heaters)
- Salt-rated outdoor GPOs and switches for coastal-strip jobs
- Outdoor lighting — sensor floods, feature lighting, step lighting, pool deck lighting
- Christmas lights weatherproof outlets along the back fence and front of house
- Outdoor TV / projector electrical for entertainers
- Pool pump motor electrical replacement when the old one seizes mid-summer
- Underwater pool light low-voltage transformer install or replacement
Common jobs in Joondalup
Pool pump motor replacement in a Kingsley or Greenwood family home where the original 90s unit finally died. Alfresco kitchen install on an Iluka or Burns Beach renovation — multiple weatherproof GPOs, dedicated circuits for fridge and BBQ. Spa add-on at a Mullaloo coastal home — proper RCD, weatherproof isolator, dedicated supply. Salt-rated outdoor GPO replacement on a Burns Beach beachfront property where standard units corroded out within two years.
What to SMS or photograph
- Photo of the existing pool/spa/alfresco area
- Photo of where you want new outdoor power
- Whether you're on the coastal strip (changes the rating spec for the fittings)
SMS Tony 0415 966 469 with the photos and address. Most outdoor jobs are a half- to full-day visit.
FAQs
Why do coastal homes need salt-rated outdoor fittings?
Standard outdoor fittings corrode out within a couple of years on the beachfront strip — salt air eats the contacts. Proper salt-rated gear costs slightly more upfront and lasts.
Does my pool need a separate sub-board?
Depends on the pump and any heating. A standard pump on a single circuit is fine; a heated pool with multiple loads is better off on a sub-board.
Can you do the lighting design or just the install?
I can spec the lighting — most of my customers want the install plus a sensible lighting plan for the deck and garden.
